The CBC board spring meeting occurred on Monday 11th March. We welcomed new board member Alan Jarvis FCIOB from the Construction Division of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission based in Maidenhead. Brian Berry, Chief Executive of the Federation of Master Builders was also welcomed as a special guest to the meeting: It was felt that there may be common ground for our two organisations.
Alan Jarvis gave a brief description of his organisation, and what it does, and we were very impressed to hear about the worldwide activity, and indeed feel privileged to have the CWGC as a CBC.
Brian Berry followed with details of the directions being taken by the FMB. We shall look for where we can work with them for mutual benefit.
The agenda covered a wide range of topics, with much emphasis on upcoming activity with the CIOB Marketing department for further CBC promotion. Please, given an opportunity, promote the CBCs at branch meetings around the country. A power point presentation is available from the CBC office.
The Contractors Suite of Documents will soon be available for CBC members. Sarah will advise when they are available and how to access them in a newsletters.
Your suggestions on the promotion of the CBC scheme are always welcome at the CBC office.
The CIOB Conference is taking place near Leeds in June. As many of the CBC board that can make it will be there, along with Jess Deacon, the CBC Manager ,so if you are intending to be there, please make yourself known to us.
